Friends of LeDuc of Historic Hastings will meet on Wednesday, August 15, 7 p.m. at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street, Hastings. Note date change from August 14 to august 15. After a short business meeting the group will travel to Lakeside Cemetery for the dedication of the Bateman footstone by Mayor Paul Hicks. Richard Darsow has done considerable research on Bateman who was an early pioneer plowmaker in Hastings and has also restored the Bateman plow which stands in the carriage barn at LeDuc. Bateman died 130 years ago, but his gravestone has never been marked, so it is only appropriate that Friends of LeDuc contributed to the placing of this footstone.
The meeting is free & open to the public.
