History of the Future Workforce Alliance
The Future Workforce Alliance (FWA) was established in 2022 through a partnership between the Hastings School District and the Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce. The initiative began with the creation of industry groups designed to help school administration staff better understand local workforce needs and develop meaningful career pathways for students.
As these conversations grew—supported by Hastings High School’s College & Career Counseling Department—a collaborative group of local businesses and educators came together to officially form the Future Workforce Alliance.
The Alliance’s mission is to bridge the gap between education and industry by:
-
Connecting local employers with career pathway programs to strengthen curriculum
-
Providing students with diverse career exploration opportunities
-
Bringing business professionals into the classroom to teach employability skills, interview preparation, compensation and benefits understanding, and more
Together, the Future Workforce Alliance is helping to prepare Hastings students for success in an ever-changing workforce.
