Letters From Home-34th ECAB

On Sunday, January 5, 2020, 3 PM (1500 Military Time), Letters from Home will honor our veterans, active duty military heroes, families and their children by Reviving Patriotism and Uniting the Nation through music. This will be like the Bob Hope, USO Show: The One-Man Morale Machine, in the tiny island of Diego Garcia, in the middle of the Indian Ocean, his final show in the Vietnam War. You will be dazzled with tap dancing. Your memories will be filled with song. You will be charmed by comedy, charisma and personality. Your hearts will be touched forever with patriotism Letters From Home brings back the style of the USO, with incredible high-energy performances featuring creator and founder Erin Dearth, and self-proclaimed "tall guy” Dan Bechmann! Special guests and big bands are also available to add to these nation-wide life-changing one-of-a-kind live shows featuring the music of World War II (WW II) and Vietnam and beyond! This musical production will honor the St. Paul-based 34th Expeditionary Combat Aviation Brigade (34th ECAB) is an Army National Guard unit that supports the 34th Infantry Division and the state of Minnesota by providing aviation capabilities – both UH-60 Black Hawk and CH-47 Chinook helicopters – for federal and state missions. The 34 ECAB 2020 Objective is deployment in support of Operation Spartan Shield and Operation Inherent Resolve to provide aviation capabilities to the region. The brigade previously deployed to the region from 2014-2015. Some of their past accomplishments started in 2018 with a new name, the Red Devils, along with a new logo. The name “Red Devils” has historical meaning to the unit dating back to WWII. The Germans gave the 34th ID a nickname that translates to either “Red Bulls,” as adopted by the 34th ID, or “Red Devils,” to which the 34th ECAB chose to pay homage.
