Friends of LeDuc of Historic Hastings will meet on Tuesday, July 10, 7 p.m. at the Estate. Following a short business meeting, Mayme Johnson, Program Director of Carpenter Nature Center, will speak about the Point Douglas Cemetery. Point Douglas was once a booming town, how nearly 200 people lived there and what caused its demise. She will share stories of the people who lived there and how, at one time, this was a booming town with a sawmill, two hotels, a boarding house & a public school.
