  • Hastings Tourism Assessment Program

Tourism in Minnesota is a key economic driver.  As a $13.6 billion industry, it has the potential to generate jobs and drive money into our community.
Hastings has a natural draw for tourists with access to the Mississippi, St. Croix and Vermillion Rivers, it also offers a lot in the way of attractions, recreation and rich history.  With recent city investments in the downtown area and the efforts from the Hasting Rotary in making the riverside pavilion a reality, the Hastings Tourism Bureau feels NOW IS THE TIME to push Hastings as a tourist destination.  In a collaboration with The University of MN Extension and Explore MN, The Hastings Tourism Bureau is conducting a program which will assess Hastings Tourism assets, uncover opportunities for tourism development and identify action steps for increasing tourism traffic.

The first step is to get feedback from local teams.  That's where YOU come in!  The Hastings Chamber of Commerce and Tourism Bureau is asking community members to engage in a survey that will inventory our local assets. (bike trails, river access, historic buildings, bird watching, etc.)  This information gathered by community members will create a baseline of information that will launch us into the next step in the program: A Visitors First Impression.  (Stay tuned for more information)

  • Ambassadors

Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors act as the welcoming arm of the Chamber,
visiting new businesses and members and hosting social events.  Ambassador visits are advertised in the local newspaper,
on the Chamber’s Facebook page and in the Chamber’s weekly newsletter giving businesses recognition throughout the community.

  • Ribbon Cutting Ceremonies

As a new business, hosting a ribbon cutting is an excellent opportunity to bring Chamber members and community leaders
to your front door!  We will coordinate a date that works for your schedule, invite city staff and Chamber Ambassadors to attend and
provide large scissors and ribbon for the ceremony.  As additional advertising, photographs of the event will be posted in our Chamber newsletter and sent to the local paper. If you are interested in hosting a ribbon cutting, please contact the Chamber at 651.437.6775
