    Job Description

    As a Finance Manager at Smead, you will provide high level financial analysis for all three business units (Smead, UBrands, and S&W). There is a heavy focus on special projects / analysis such as to provide financial analysis on customer and product Line profitability, customer RFP’s and other ad-hoc financial requests. Organize and direct all cost accounting activities in the areas of product costing, inventory valuation and departmental costs.  This role will provide leadership for the entire budgeting process including all 3 P&L’s, plus capital expenditures.
    Duties and Responsibilities:
    · Publish quarterly customer profitability reports. Provide financial support for RFQs. Create pro forma P&Ls as needed
    · Provide financial analysis for new product introduction process.
    · Perform ad hoc financial analyses and ROIs as requested by the Senior Leaders.  Answer financial related questions from functional leaders.   
    · Manage and oversee the annual budgeting process including forecasted sales, operating expenses and capital expenditures. 
    · Perform month-end and year-end accounting closing duties and reporting. Research management requests for explanation of results. Perform account reconciliations. Support the annual year-end audit.
    · Perform quarterly and annual standard cost updates. Update the corporate costs and RFQ costing files.
    · Maintain Standard Costs including direct labor, mfg. overhead, machine, and material overhead rates by plant.

    · Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
    · CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus
    · 7+ years’ combined experience with strong knowledge of both Financial Planning and Analysis and Cost Accounting in a manufacturing environment
    · Excellent written and verbal skills especially with non-Finance leaders.
    · Strong Excel skills
    · Strong planning, analytical and decision making skills
    · PeopleSoft or some comparable ERP System
    · Proficiency in writing and maintaining queries using Microsoft SQL.
    This position is located in Hastings, MN - 15 min SE of St. Paul; an easy commute from the south or east side of the Twin Cities metropolitan area.
