    Job Description
    Responsible for the vessel’s safe operation at all times abiding by Coast Guard regulations and ensuring the comfort and safety of all guests.  Responsible for a high level of guest service as described in your departments guest service standards. 

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    ? Pilot, dock and secure the vessel abiding by U.S. Coast Guard guidelines
    ? Operate vessel #D1083331 in compliance with the U.S. Coast Guard Certificate of Inspection
    ? Maintain and adhere to U.S. Coast Guard safety standards and prepare the vessel for its annual U.S. Coast Guard inspection
    ? Train the crew on proper safety and emergency procedures in compliance with the U.S. Coast Guard
    ? Prepare, maintain and transmit records and reports to the Hospitality Director
    ? Ensure that all normal and preventative maintenance is performed on the vessel
    ? Maintain the vessel at the highest level of cleanliness
    ? Complete request for bids for boat supplies and parts

    KNOWLEDGE AND CERTIFICATION, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    Knowledge and Certification
    Required:
    ? High School Diploma/GED or equivalent experience
    ? 3 years riverboat pilot experience
    ? 2 years supervisory experience
    ? 100 Ton Master U.S. Merchant Marine Officer License
    ? Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)

    Required:
    ? Accurate and detail-oriented
    ? Highly organized and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities
    ? Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
    ? Strong mechanical aptitude
    Abilities
    Required:
    ? Ability to follow established dress code policies and practice good personal hygiene
    ? Ability to interact with guests, coworkers and management in a professional and courteous manner
    ? Ability to serve both internal and external customers

    REQUIRED TRAINING
    ? Treasure Island guest service training
    ? TIPS training and certification
    ? Any position-related training as determined by department director

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    ? Must be able to sit for long periods of time with moderate amounts of walking and standing
    ? Must be willing to work in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
    ? Must have a good sense of balance, and be able to bend and kneel
    ? Must be able to reach and twist routinely
    ? Must be able to push, pull and grasp objects routinely
    ? Must have the ability to independently lift up to 25+ pounds occasionally
    ? Must be able to perform repetitive hand and wrist motions 
    ? Must have good eye hand coordination

    WORKING ENVIRONMENT
    ? Work is performed primarily outdoors in extreme weather with exhaust fumes, but may include going on to the gaming floor, which includes flashing lights, frequent loud noises and cigarette smoke
    ? Must be able to work in cramped, tight quarters
    ? Must be willing to work a flexible schedule including all shifts, weekends and holidays 
    ? Occasionally overtime may be required
