    Position Overview
    We are looking for a committed Sr. Financial Analyst that is organized and detailed oriented. The Sr. Financial Analyst provides financial analyses for Smead, U Brands, and S&W business units.  There is a focus on special projects and providing financial analysis regarding customer and product line profitability, customer RFP’s and other ad hoc requests concerning improving profitability.  Responsible for all cost accounting activities; product costing, inventory valuation and departmental costs.  This position will assist with the entire budgeting process including all three business units P&L’s including capital expenditures.

    General Responsibilities
    • Perform month-end and year-end closing duties and reporting ensuring accurate financial reports. Research management requests for explanation of results, provide information regarding deviations from budget and identifying trends.   Perform account reconciliations.  Support the year-end audit.  
    • Perform ad hoc financial analysis and ROI’s to support management decision making.     
    • Analyze customer and product line profitability reports.  Provide insights for opportunities to increase profitability.
    •  Perform quarterly and annual standard cost updates. Update the Corporate Costs and RQ costing files. Ensure accurate data for product costing, inventory valuation, and RFQ submittals.
    • Provide support for RFQ’s.  Create pro forma P&L’s as needed.  
    • Participate in the annual budgeting process including forecasted sales, operating expenses and capital expenditures.  Load budgeted data to financial systems for subsequent financial reporting.
    • Maintain financial system Cost modules including direct labor, manufacturing overhead, machine and material overhead rates by plant.  
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.  
    • CPA, CMA, or MBA preferred.
    • 7+ years of experience with strong knowledge of both financial planning and analysis and cost accounting in a consumer goods/manufacturing environment.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
    • Strong Excel skills, advanced user.
    • 5+ years ERP experience.
    • Adaptive Financial Reporting a plus.
