The project takes a unique approach to building awareness\, sharing information\, and inviting authentic community conversations. Hastings and Prescott will host three special performance events - each starting with a different short play performed by a professional\, traveling cast. Audience members will watch the play and participate in a facilitated conversation. The idea stems from a book of three one-act plays titled The MemoryCare Plays (compiled and edited by Dr. Margaret A. Noel) and from the recognition that the arts are a powerful tool for inviting deep and meaningful conversation. \n\n"The Remember Project is for you\," said Angie Pilgrim\, Grants and Programs Officer with the Saint Croix Valley Foundation\, "for your family and your community. We believe that\, together\, our St. Croix Valley communities can address the isolation and fear associated with dementia through this very unique experience using theater and conversation to learn and make decisions about the future." Bre DeCorsey\, Community Education Manager at The GRACE Unit at Regina Hospital in Hastings adds "It is so important to start conversations\, to hear from others in the community on what their experience with dementia has been.
