  • Farm, Food & Fun Fair - August 22, 2009.  
    LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street.
    Reconnecting with Agricultural Roots in Dakota County 1858-2009."  Attendees of this free event will learn about William LeDuc's contribution to agriculture.  They will enjoy demonstrations of traditional woodworking, harvesting, and food preservation while trying their hand at old-fashioned farm tasks.   • Saint Croix Valley Apple Fest October 3 - 4, 10 - 11, 2009 Area apple orchards and Carpenter Nature Center celebrate the apple harvest along the bluffs of the St. Croix River.   • Harvest Haunting LeDuc Historic Estate, October 24 2009, There will be sightings of ghosts, goblins, & witches at the Third Annual Harvest Haunting at the LeDuc Historic Estate, 1629 Vermillion Street , Hastings , MN , 5-8 p.m.  Attendees are encouraged to come in costumes. New this year, a scary walk in the woods with story tellers. For the children there will be s'mores & apples and for the adults home-baked treats. All visitors will have an opportunity to help make apple cider with the apple press. The cellar will be open every twenty minutes for a candlelight tour. At check-in time attendees will receive a ticket telling them exactly when their tour will be. At 5:30 in the parlor there will be a special reading by a professional of "Jack Tales." There will be ongoing readings from Poe in the Children's Room during the evening. In the Simmons Shed there will be a "Bargain Boo-Tique," consisting of antiques and collectibles. It is important that reservations be made for this event so that ghosts and goblins can be assured of a spot on one of the tours of the cellar.   • Hastings Artists' Show at  the LeDuc Historic EstateNovember  7 - 15, 2009, 1629 Vermillion Street (Hwy. 61)  Free event. The house will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. each day. Local artists will have their works for sale with part of the proceeds going to the Dakota County Historical Society to help fund tours and displays at the LeDuc House. Among the artwork being displayed is blown glass, raku pottery, basketry, rughooking, photography, felted wool art, woodcarving and paintings in several media. Sponsored by Target.
