Historic City HallHistory is the focus for many visitors to Hastings, nationally known for its Victorian architecture.   Hastings has a total of 63 buildings on the National Register including 33 commercial buildings and 28 private homes and 2 churches.

The Hastings Tourism & City Map is available at City Hall (101 4th Street East) or at the
Hastings Area Chamber of Commerce Tourism Bureau office (111 3rd Street East).  The map includes the scenic bike trail and a self guided historic walking or driving tour.  Also available is a comprehensive guide to Hastings.

Some of the sites on the tour include Hastings City Hall, formerly the Historic Dakota County Court House, as well as the 1957 Fasbender Clinic, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright and the LeDuc Historic Estate.

Also of note are many grand Victorian mansions, and the wonderfully restored  19th Century buildings of the downtown area, a National Register Historic District and part of the National Trust's Main Street Program.
